Climbers: Yojiro, Taka and Yusuke

We three went to GS for bouldering.  It has been almost a year to climb in this location.  I remember it was warm the last trip.  Today NY/NJ was warmer but GS was crispy enough to have good frictions.

We met with Char and Kate, very strong climbers, and I was inspired with Kate's tries on Karmic Power V5**** which I gave up last year due to tiny slot crimp holds. I tried her moves but had no progress at all.

I repeated Bread Loaf Arete V4*****, also sent Yeast V4**** and Knead It V3**** which I didn't touch last year.  Because of good friction, Casanova V6*** felt easy but The Egg V5***** was very difficult from the mantle standpoint.  I directly topped out without using left hold on the lip.

Repeated Moby's Dick V5***** for Yojiro.  Herr Left V5**** felt easy for the grade.  I spent some time on Cobra V5***** which felt impossible the last time I tried because of the reach factor.  Today with good friction I was able to barely stick the far left hold and sent the problem.  I didn't have good observation for the last moves and foot hold ending with terrible sent, oh well....


今日は割りと暖かいってことなので久しぶりにGovernor Stableで登った。 ドライブで約3時間かかる場所。 前も書いたんですが、ここはスリーマイル島と言う有名な原発がある近くで、ものすごいでかい高炉を見ながら岩場までのドライブになります。

Yojiroくんは始めてのエリアなので、案内がてら登るって感じの予定。 takaはお遊びで来たらしいw  まずは入り口の付近でアップ。  そしたらそこにHaycockのトポの作者とその奥さんが登ってた。  二人とも激ツヨ。  おいらは奥さんがトライしているKarmic Power V5****をやってみる。  去年も触ったが薄いカチに指が収まらなくて諦めてたのを思い出すが、彼女のムーヴをパクってトライする。  が、しかし、同じムーヴができるわけもなく断念。  あぁー指皮もげた。

看板課題であるBread Loaf Arete V4*****をYojiroくんに登ってもらい、おいらは去年登らなかったYeast V4****やKnead It V3****を登っておいた。

気温は結局低かったためコンディションが良く、スローピーなCasanova V6***が容易に感じた。  ついでに上部がスローピーなThe Egg V5*****もやる。  正直マントルが高い位置だったのでものすごい怖かったけど何とか無理やり完登。

Moby's Dick V5*****もあまりに有名なのでYojiroくんにやってもらう。  おいらもベータってことで登る。  Herr Left V5****はV5にしては簡単だった。　最後の時間はCobra V5*****をやってもらおうと思い紹介。  去年はおいらはリーチが足りなくて序盤のムーヴがこなせなかったので諦め切ってたんですが、Yojiroくんのトライを見てやってみたらスタートができちゃったじゃないですか。  そして中間のガバが取れたところでおいらは完登。  最後のムーヴをちゃんと分析してなかったのでアタフタ。  で、スポッターのYojiroくんに大迷惑。  とりあえず完登したのでOKってことで。。。
